Ultimate Express
The penultimate express boat - very fast, very comfortable underway or at the destination. Shoal draft of just 2'6" lets her go where few boats of this size are ever seen. Accommodations below include two staterooms, heads, a large "u" shaped settee and galley. On deck, she's equally well laid out with a large covered helmdeck, full enclosure (removable), "L" settee and table for 8,then aft, a spacious cockpit with teak deck, aft seating for four flanking the centered transom door to the swim platform.
Interior Layout
Master stateroom forward with varnished teak, island queen centerline berth. Seating, cedar hanging lockers, shelves and bookcases flank each side of the master berth. Rheostat controlled overhead lights and additional reading lights. Aft to port is the master head with Vacu-flush marine toilet, Corian
countertops and adjacent stall shower. An additional sink and vanity permit the area to serve as a guest head when needed. The sink and vanity assembly slide
outboard revealing a the head with manual toilet
Aft to port is the guest cabin featuring upper and lower berths, bureau storage, hanging locker and combination washer / dryer. The upper berth folds down to provide a backrest and converts the area to a day suite with a sofa.
To starboard at the bottom of the companionway is a large, U-shaped galley with Corian countertops, outboard dish and dry food storage compartments, Grunert holding plate refrigeration with top loading freezer, three burner electric
stove with oven and a large double stainless steel sink with Grohe "pull-out" faucet. The entire galley area has varnished teak corner posts and veneers throughout.
Forward of the galley to starboard is a large, U-shaped dinette with varnished teak table. The dinette upholstery is leather. The dinette table lowers to
create an additional double berth. The dinette backrests lift up to create an additional pilot berth. The forward dinette bulkhead houses a 13" TV with VCR. Outboard are bookshelves and locker storage. At the aft outboard end of the dinette is a drawer housing a fax machine.
Helmdeck and Cockpit
The helm area includes two new, Stidd helm seats with chrome bases. The pilot seat has electric up/down controls and a jog lever that is interfaced to the autopilot. To port is a generous navigation desk with additional stowage outboard. Settees are aft of the helm and pilot seats. The starboard settee is L-shaped with a teak drop-leaf table that seats up to 6 guests. Aft of the bridge deck there is a very large cockpit with teak deck, aft facing seats and large twin stern seats on either side of the center access transom door. The cockpit houses a pull-out hot/cold shower. Engine room access is via an electric lift that raises the laid teak cockpit sole. There is also a manual center engine hatch for quick engine access. Mechanical systems have been installed with service requirements in mind. A fiberglass hardtop covers the helmdeck. Eisenglass and strataglass panels, plus "sliding door" fully encloses the helm area.

Broker Notes
"Peregrine" was originally built to the specific design parameters of her original owner. Her overall length was dictated by area requirements for comfortable interior accommodations; a good galley, settee, a large helmdeck / seating area and a large cockpit. The large MANN engines in order to optimize speed were designed the same as the hull design. With very shoal in draft, Ted Hood's hull design incorporates what Little Harbor called "Quiet Chines." On the Whisperjets, the quiet chine ingeniously reduces wetted surface area and beam underway. At rest, the design eliminates the sound of water "slapping" against the hull. Hood's design has an inboard hard chine, well below the water from which the underbody extends up and arcs outboard creating a "hollow" area in the hull. At rest, this "hollow" area is at the waterline - the shape provides no horizontal surface for water to slap against. Underway at speed, the boat runs on the narrow hull width at the inboard bottom of the hollow sections, so the boat is faster than an equivalent deep V design with similar beam. In a turn, without broad, flat areas keeping her upright, she rolls into the turn, "banking" more like a motorcycle than your everyday yacht. What a boat!
