Accommodations and Layout
The interior accommodations are beautifully executed in attractive high gloss varnished teak. Layout is as shown in diagram. Yacht walkthrough: Forward is the chain locker with stowage for fenders, lines etc. Abaft the forepeak is the self-contained crew quarters with Raritan electric head and shower forward, double berth to port and seating and stowage to starboard. Aft of the crew quarters is the fully equipped galley with a dinette to starboard.
Steps from the galley lead up into the main saloon with seating, table and the navigation station. A companionway up from the main saloon leads into the pilothouse and center cockpit which features dual station engine and steering controls. Navigational systems are in the main saloon, and at both cockpit helmstations. Steps lead down aft from the main saloon with staterooms to port and starboard each with Raritan electric head and shower. The companionway leads aft to the master stateroom with queen sized berth to starboard and pilot berth to port. A self-contained Raritan electric head with vanity is abaft the main stateroom to starboard and a self-contained stall shower with vanity is to port. An aft companionway leads out the master stateroom to a private aft cockpit.
The high quality finished teak and holly sole adds to the every handsome style and original interior features of BELVEDERE. The lockable sole sections are easily removable for access and inspection to tanks seacocks, batteries etc. All the main hanging lockers are lined with cedar. Attractive varnished teak ceiling strips are overhead between white Formica (that can be divided into removable sections in case of new installation or inspection).
Main Saloon
The companionway from the cockpit leads below into the main saloon. Dining is to port with an L-shaped settee. The teak dropleaf table can be adjusted (raised/lowered) via an electric motor. The settee and teak chairs brought to the table allow eight to seat in comfort. Lowered the table makes an excellent coffee table. To starboard there are two arm chairs. The chairs and settee are finished in forest green leather (blue/white stripped fabric covers are available). Aft to starboard the navigation station with stool, forward there is a wetbar and liquor/wine bottle storage. Aft to port is the electrical control panel (with smoked glass doors), bookcase and entertainment center (Samsung TV, Sony VCR/DVD, Clarion CD player/FM/AM radio). Outboard port and starboard are numerous lockers. Ambient light and ventilation provided by three overhead Lewmar hatches. When conditions call for air conditioning the main saloon can be cooled and ventilated (as all living spaces can aboard BELVEDERE). Dorades also provide ventilation.
Guest Staterooms
From the aft end of the main saloon descending five steps one enters a companionway leading to the guest quarters and further aft to the master stateroom. Immediately to port is a door that leads to the head and shower of the port side guest cabin, allowing this bathroom to be used as a day head. Adjacent to this door is the door to the portside guest cabin (with private access to the head and shower. This stateroom has an under over berth arrangement outboard and a single berth inboard. The berths are separated by a shared built in teak night stand/cabinet. There is ample stowage, book space and a hanging locker. Immediately to starboard of the companionway is the door to the engine room and adjacent to that the starboard side guest stateroom with a double berth and a single berth above. There is also a night stand in this stateroom, ample stowage, a hanging locker and a private head and shower forward.
Master Stateroom
The To the rear of the companionway is the full-width owners' stateroom, finished in off white bulkheads, teak furniture and trim. To starboard is a queen sized berth, to port are built in green leather cushioned chairs and a pilot berth. For ambient light and ventilation there are six opening ports and the aft cockpit/companionway. There is excellent storage with many built-ins, bookcases, hanging lockers, drawers etc.
Additionally the stateroom has a Clarion CD player and FM/am radio, Phillips TV and VCR. The owners head is to starboard with vanity and the stall shower and vanity is to port. Steps aft lead thru a companionway to a private and comfortable aft cockpit. A half hull model of BELVEDERE is mounted on the companionway bulkhead entering the master stateroom. The master stateroom features a Chelsea chronometer and barometer also a B&G Hydra 200 display so that owner can monitor BELVEDERE's navigation parameters from the comfort of the stateroom.

Horizontal surfaces are finished in white Formica with teak trim. Ample storage spaces and lockers for provisions, utensils and sundries. To starboard is a dinette with two benches and a teak table, comfortable for four. Shelves and stowage outboard. There are four opening ports and two overhead opening hatches.
Crew quarters
Going forward from the galley is the crew's quarters. These were totally refitted and re-formatted in 2004 providing a comfortable contained cabin for captain and first mate. To port is a raised queen-sized berth with stowage beneath, forward is crews head and shower. Adjacent to the vanity is a large hanging locker for crew’s clothes and storm gear. To starboard is a pilot berth that can be used for stowage. Abaft the berth are a Bosch washer and dryer. The cabin also has two comfortable stylish leather Eames chairs (examples of which are part of the permanent collection of New York's Museum of Modern Art). The crew's quarters has a Jensen CD player and also features a B&G Hydra 200 multifunction display so that captain can monitor navigation parameters and conditions from the cabin.
Deck, hull and construction
The hull is molded in fiberglass with a 3/4" Airex foam core (producing extra strength and sound/thermal insulation). Vinylester resin was used on the exterior hull to produce high resistance to osmosis. Solid fiberglass was laid up in areas of sheerline, centerline, rudder post, ports and thru hulls. BELVEDERE's subdeck is also hand laid fiberglass but with Divinycell foam core construction.
BELVEDERE has two centerboards, aft of the main board is a second about one-third the size. The main centerboard is constructed in molded fiberglass with a bronze protective shoe on its leading edge and solid fiberglass around the pin. The aft board is bronze. The ballast is lead, cast in place and fully encapsulated in fiberglass. The bronze seacocks are all flush mounted. At the 1998 refit a seachest was incorporated in the pump room, an adaptation that eliminated many thru hulls. The teak deck overlay is glued securely to the subdeck (fastenings only used around margin boards adjacent to the cabinhouse). The teak was replaced in 1991 at Little Harbor Portsmouth. Her topsides are Awlgripped white (2001) with blue boot stripe. The custom fabricated stainless steel rubrails were installed in 2001. There are opening ports in the topsides as well as a molded fiberglass rubrail with stainless steel striker (installed new in 2002). On the foredeck a custom stainless steel stem head and stem plate has been modified to accept a 140 lb CQR anchor. The chain locker has a custom stainless steel fairlead tube for the chain anchor rode.
All exterior teak brightwork has been varnished annually.
The custom solid fiberglass pilothouse was constructed at Dodson Boatyard in 1998. The center cockpit also features a stainless steel (fabricated in 2000) framed isinglass awning/enclosure (refurbished in 2005). The aft cockpit dodger was new in 2005.
A custom offshore capable stainless steel davit system (installed 2004) is powered by Lewmar #44 electric winches. These davits accommodate a 14' 2004 Novurania center console launch with 4 stroke 50 HP Honda outboard.
The bulkheads are built of marine grade plywood, re-enforced with fiberglass around chainplates. All structural bulkheads are bonded to the hull and deck with fiberglass and Airex foam spacers. Floor beams are extruded fiberglass, interlocked and bonded to the hull for rigid and durable support of the cabin sole. Fiberglass fuel and water tanks are fundamentally molded into the hull. The bilges are faired and epoxy coated. There is teak and holly sole throughout.
