With models available in 52, 62 and 72 foot lengths, the Coastal Explorers feel more spacious than many larger yachts. Designed to be a world-class cruiser, every consideration for comfortable and efficient voyaging has been taken into account in the design. Built to the high standard that Hood has become renowned for, the Coastal Explorer offers owners both the exceptional performance of long distance trawler and the high end outfitting of a luxury yacht. Her interiors are finished with beautiful cherry wood and teak decks. One will find ample head room on the main deck, in the accommodations and also in the engine room. The design sports a full walk-around deck with plenty of room for outdoor entertaining. The swim platform creates a comfortable spot to step aboard or swim, and a raised dingy davit allows full access across the platform and entry into the below decks level. The beam on the Coastal Explorers provides for plenty of room to walk around comfortably, with no bumping of shoulder or elbows while moving from one area to the next.
In regards to accommodations, the Coastal Explorer provides both exceptional comfort and a complete connection to the surrounding outdoor scenery. Spacious staterooms afford plenty of room for on board guests, each with a private bathroom and sink with attached separate shower and sink stall and plenty of storage space. The impressively large owner’s stateroom offers a full king sized bed, his and hers heads adjoined by shower, and a private aft entrance door from the swim platform.
The fully appointed U-shaped galley is located between the interior and exterior dining areas and boasts a sliding window for direct access to the aft deck’s covered dining area. The Coastal Explorer’s open floor plan salons are set up perfectly for entertaining with a well proportioned dining area, side settee and day head. The pilothouse is also open to the main salon and provides a comfortable platform for navigation and handling underway. In addition to these excellent amenities, the two interior levels have no steps up or down when walking fore and aft, creating a sweeping open floor plan ideal for entertaining.
